Playable proposal mission

A video game groomsman proposal he actually plays

His link opens on a sealed game case with his name on the shrink wrap and his face on the cover. He loads the disc, gets a classified briefing, hunts for the target in night vision, and earns an operator card that asks the big question.

what they see

How the reveal plays out

It feels like opening a new game on release day, except he is the cover star. Turn the sound on: there are beeps, a transmission and a mission to finish.

A brand new game

A sealed case lies on a wood table with "Personal Copy: Mike" on the wrap. He tears it open and sees his name, his callsign and his photo on the cover of Squad Up.

Load the disc

He drags the disc onto the console tray, the game boots, and an incoming transmission decodes into a briefing with your wedding date, the venue and his objective.

The night-vision hunt

He sweeps a scope across a dark field, following the beeps, until he finds the target. Pick the groom as a cardboard cutout, the rings or a supply drop marked I DO.

Accept the mission

His operator card loads with three funny stats and your question. Both buttons say ACCEPT MISSION, and he can save his cover art once he says yes.

Questions people ask

Do I need to buy one for each groomsman?

No. One purchase covers your whole squad, and each guy gets his own link with his own name, photo, callsign and stats.

What if I don't have a good photo of him?

Pick one of the 4 cover designs instead. Photos are added as an image link from a free photo-hosting site, and the PDF shows you how.

How do I print the game case?

Print the cover, orders card and disc label on US Letter or A4 paper at 100% (glossy photo paper looks best) and slide them into a standard DVD case. The case itself isn't included.

What if he can't find the target?

The mission can't be lost. If he gets stuck, the dark lifts to help him find it.

Can I see his answer?

Yes, if you turn on "Text me their answer." When he accepts, a text to you opens on his phone, ready to send.

Is anything mailed to me?

No. It's a digital download, so nothing ships, including a game case or a cardboard cutout.

It's a digital download on Etsy. Make it tonight and send it whenever you're ready.
